Basic interventional therapies include procedures such as epidural steroid injections, major joint injections with steroid or viscosupplements, medial branch blocks, sympathetic blocks, and sacroiliac joint injections. These therapies are often a better alternative for effective long-term pain relief than oral pain medications and can frequently improve your pain to a point where things that haven’t worked in the past, such as physical therapy, can begin to be helpful toward improving your overall function and returning you to a more normal you.
